Originally founded as the North Durham Millennium Band in 1998 to celebrate the coming new Millennium, the North Durham Concert Band changed its name and purpose but has kept the same goal; to celebrate music and encourage participation in the communities of Northern Durham Region. The membership is high diverse in skill, age and background. With members ranging from teenagers to senior citizens, new players to professional musicians, and those have picked up an instrument after a long break or played all their life, everyone is welcome. The North Durham Concert Band is a friendly, social group plays for enjoyment and the sheer love of music.
